( I ) GENERAL     Welcome! This blog is currently low-activity and eternally a WIP as I add characters and flesh out backstories; thank you in advance for your patience.
This blog will not tolerate discrimination based on race, nationality, age, gender, sexual identity, or religion. This being said I will not interact with muns under the age of 21 due to the adult nature of some of the content on this blog and both our health and safety.
Any resemblence of my characters to their faceclaims or other idols is purely coincidental; I have no intention of impersonating any real person.

( II ) SELECTIVITY     I am not a particularly selective blog, though I do reserve the right to be choosy about what blogs/characters I feel my muses would mesh best with. If you're not sure if your character would mesh well please feel free to reach out to me and we can chat about it!

( III ) MEMES & STARTER CALLS     Send me all the memes, all the time, always please! And anyone is welcome to respond to any starter call I post regardless whether our characters have prior connections or not.
I do treat memes as starters, so please expect threads to come of them, as I generally expect the same; I'm here to RP, not write drabbles for people unless otherwise specified.

( IV ) PLOTTING     I am happy to plot with people if more planning is wanted/required. This is especially essential for any preexisting connections between muses, or any heavily triggering content is written. Feel free to drop into my DMs at any time!

( V ) FORMATTING     I am not picky about formatting - you may conduct your blog and your post aesthetics however you see fit. My only request is that you please use punctuation. It's very hard for me to wrap my head around a post if it's one run-on sentence, and I may elect to ignore it or ask for it to be rewritten.

( VI ) WRITING SPEED     Molasses. Snails. Turtles. That horse I bet on at the Derby.

( VII ) MAINS & EXCLUSIVES     I don't really practice mains in an official capacity, but there will always be people I interact with more than others; this is how RPCs go -- people plot together, headcanon together, gush and flail at eachother at random times of the day. Those people have put in enegy and it's only natural for eneregy/activity to be a result. Please don't take any of this personally; if you would like this to be you, come talk to me about your characters! Ask questions! Generate some creative energy with me!

( VIII ) SHIPPING     I adore shipping of all kinds -- romantic, platonic, familial, adversarial, etc. Please don't ever take my excitement re: a pair of characters as forcing a ship; I will never make you or your characters do anything you are uncomfortable with, and I expect the same from my writing partners.

( IX ) TRIGGERS     This blog will contain triggering content. I do not keep an extensive list of triggers I check for, but they will follow a "tw; trigger" format in my tags. If there is something you would like tagged please let me know, and I will do my best to accommodate.
My only personal nopes are RPF, or Real Person Fiction. I choose not to interact with characterizations of real people, it makes me a bit ucomfortable.

( X ) CREDITS     All personalized graphics made or edited by me unless otherwise stated. Tumblr blog layout and Carrd layout credits are embedded.

( XI ) ABOUT THE MUN     I'm most widely known by my alias HMR (short for HeavyMetalRobot). I am EST-based, she/they pronouns, 35+ years old with 25+ years of RP experience on various different platforms. I work as a telemetry technician at a local hospital, and my hours are a bit wonky because of this.
I love getting to know people so please feel free to come introduce yourself and chat for a while!
Please note: Mun is not Asian or of Asian descent. I strive to be as respectful as possible to other cultures, and as such if anything I write or discuss is flagrantly incorrect or disrespectful I openly welcome patient and constructive criticism. Let's help each other be better!

Kang “Ben” Chunghee was born in Perth, Australia where he lived for many of his younger years with his father, mother, and two younger brothers. He was a rowdy but good-natured young man that was well-liked by his adults and peers, much like his lifelong best friend Park Mingyu.Likewise an Australian-Born child of Korean parents, Park Mingyu had a profound influence over the eldest Kang child, even to the point that when Mingyu declared he would undergo training to become an idol, Ben decided to follow him into the rigorous lifestyle without taking a single glance back.Currently he lives in Seoul, South Korea and performs with the group UNA1.Likes: Manchester United, cold weather, Mama Kang’s japchae
Dislikes: Bugs, hot weather, broccoli

Yang Sujin was born in Daegu, South Korea where he spent the majority of his life prior to becoming an idol. His mother worked odd jobs to make ends meet and his father was a drunk with a gambling addiction who unfortunately made life difficult for his wife and son. He was not a physically abusive man, necessarily, which made it difficult for his mother to justify leaving to herself in spite of her son’s urgings, and on the occasion Sujin’s father did manage a lucky night the small family could have nice things for a while — nicer than they ever would have had without. But that did not change the fact that it was illegal, and it was this very illegality that sent Sujin’s father to jail for a total of five years, leaving wife, 18-year-old son, and an at-that-time unborn daughter to fend for themselves. It was outside the supermarket one day as he was bouncing his infant sister, singing little songs to her and trying his best to get her to stop crying while his mother ran in for ‘just a few quick things’ that Sujin met a man with a business card — he said he had connections in the music industry and that he liked Sujin’s earnest look and sound. He was instructed to call and reference him by name, and wished him the best of luck.It was due in part to this unexpected benefactor that Sujin was able to join a trainee school in Seoul and debut with UNA1. Only those who know him best know the details of the other parts of his idol origin story; he does not speak of them often if ever.Likes: Oversized sweaters, coffee, sweets of all kinds (particularly pastries)
Dislikes: Spicy food, jogging, people who try too hard

Lee Hyunshik was born in Busan, South Korea and moved to Seoul with his father and mother at age fourteen in order for him to pursue dance — a lifelong passion that he shared with his mother and maternal grandfather. It was due in large part to his family’s endless support and encouragement that he was able to break out at age seventeen as a backup dancer for one of the industry’s biggest groups: 1CONIC.Hyunshik worked with 1CONIC for two years before he was recruited from within the same company to join UNA1 as their lead dancer, debuting fully with the group two years later.Likes: Chicken, older women, watching dance competitions on TV/the internet
Dislikes: Skinship in public, cilantro, being reminded of his days as a backup dancer

Zhang Jun was born and raised in Guangzhou, China where he lived with his mother, stepfather, and two step-brothers —one older and one younger. His birth father died in a car accident when he was six, and his mother remarried seven years later when Jun was thirteen to an old high school flame who had divorced his wife several years prior. In spite of everyone’s best attempts to assure a smooth transition into their new family dynamic, Jun never quite clicked with his new stepfather. So when the man professed his earnest support of Jun’s desire to move to Seoul and become an idol — even when his own mother disliked the plan — Jun found himself deeply touched, the beginnings of a new bond forming in wake of the genuine gesture; an advocate when he most needed one.Jun moved to Seoul at age sixteen after receiving an invitation following an online audition and debuted with UNA1 three years later. Upon arriving in Seoul, Jun spoke little to no Korean and was forced to learn while in training. His English is also notoriously poor — something he is often teased about by friends.Likes: Costume Dramas, rainy days, dogs
Dislikes: Loud people, sour things, living so far from his family

Jeong Jimin was born and raised in Chicago, USA where he lived with his parents and his three sisters — one older and two younger. He was trained at piano from a very young age, his parents feeling strongly that their children be steeped in music culture with his father being a professor at the College of Performing Arts and his mother a noteworthy violinist.Jimin balanced familial expectations with a bit of his own fun, starting a band with a few local friends as a hobby that would soon turn into a semi-serious attempt at a future venture. Jimin’s parents encouraged him to pursue his band’s goal, his father going as far as to buy a panel van into which the band could load its instruments and gear, ready at a moment’s notice to attend any gig they could get their hands on. It was during this exciting and hectic time that he met Haneul, a fellow young musician looking to make a name for himself on the local circuit, and they became easy friends that caught up backstage of this-small-festival or that-talent-show.During one of these fateful meetings a scout happened to be present, and upon seeing potential in both young men offered them the chance to audition to enter a trainee program in South Korea and launch their careers sky high. The only downside was that this opportunity was not extended to the group as a whole — merely the individuals in question. It took time for Jimin to decide what he would do — leave his childhood friends behind and pursue his dream on his own, or stay and work their way up the hard way together. Unfortunately that decision would be made for him by those very friends telling him that, under no uncertain circumstances, he would be kicked out of the group if he gave up this once in a lifetime opportunity for their sake. And so, with his family’s blessing as well as that of the young band he was leaving behind, Jimin and Haneul both left for South Korea to pursue their futures with one another for support.Jeong Jimin lived with his grandparents until he was 18, at which time he and Haneul were able to debut with FenIX. In an unexpected turn of events Jimin was voted as captain of the group by managers and group mates alike due to his kind, empathetic, encouraging, and creative attitude, despite being the youngest member of FenIX and one of the more quiet members by a significant margin.Jimin still keeps in touch with his friends back in Chicago — ‘Break Silence’ went on to earn their own small bit of local fame and popularity, and Jimin was reassured that no matter how big he gets he will always be an honorary member.Likes: Comedy (movies/shows), flowers, barbecue (of all kinds)
Dislikes: Clowns, raisins, wearing makeup

Bai Jiyeong grew up in Seoul, South Korea, living as the only son and grandchild of his mother and grandparents. Being the only child of their small family, Jieyong was doted upon and loved from the moment he was born and into adulthood, often treated as if he’d never aged a day passed seven in spite of being one of Korea’s more notable current faces of K-Pop.Jiyeong’s mother decided late in life that though she was still not married, she wished to have a child. With the help of medical science Jiyeong was conceived and born nine months later, happy and healthy. Many of his mother’s well-intentioned but misguided friends seemed to worry about her ability to take care of the child on her own and what might happen to him without a father’s influence in his life, but that did not stop her from doing her very best. With the help of her elderly parents with whom they both lived, Jiyeong grew up with a very enriched life filled with just about any interest the boy had. Art? They’d buy him markers and crayons and paints — he’ll be a famous artist some day! Sports? They’d get him baseball lessons and sign him up for the local league — he’ll be a famous sportsman one day!But it was music that caught his attention and never let go. Regardless what interests came and went, music always persisted in his life. And so what did his little family do? Vocal lessons! Guitar! Whatever he wants, he’s our brilliant miracle child — he’ll be a famous idol one day!Sure enough he would debut with FenIX only one year after becoming a trainee thanks to the efforts of his loved ones who remain his biggest and loudest fans to this day.Jieyong, or G.O. as he’s known in the idol world, struggles a little with self-image issues due to Korea’s stringent beauty standards, but he overcomes them with a powerful stage presence that gives him a somewhat scary and intense performance quality and sets him apart from his peers. In reality Jiyeong is one of the softest-hearted people in the industry; a human teddy bear.Likes: Hats, dumb puns, pictures of your pets
Dislikes: Flying, tight clothing, being woken up

Jung Jaesung was born in Gangneung, South Korea where he lived with his mother, father, and three siblings: an older brother, a younger brother, and a younger sister. In his youth Jaesung gravitated to all things sports, and his parents tempered his competitive and outgoing nature by enrolling him in football (soccer) at an early age. If any of his friends had been asked to guess at his career in the future, every one of them would have presumed Jaesung to be on the field, playing forward position for some high-paid team.So until a talent scout interrupted a friendly game of volleyball between Jaesung and his friend one beach day to recruit him for his looks and physique, it occurred to no one that one day they’d be watching their friend on the stage instead.Jaesung took the invitation on a whim, thinking the venture to be an exciting new opportunity in which to succeed, and debuted with FenIX three years later. He remains one of the more athletic and competitive members of the group, his propensity toward games and challenges renowned through the industry; if it requires athletic prowess or a sheer stubborn will-to-win, Jaesung is the man for the team.Likes: Being outdoors, cooking, winning
Dislikes: Lazy people, rodents, mushrooms

Kwon Eunwoo was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea where he lived with his mother, father, and younger sister. From a young age he wished to become a famous cellist and play in the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, and so as soon as he was old enough to hold the instrument his parents paid for him to take private lessons. It became quickly apparent that this was a wise choice, for Eunwoo took to the cello with a prowess not often displayed in children his age, and it only got better as he grew older. So much so that he received several scholarship offers to some of the biggest music schools in South Korea — something he and his parents looked forward to immensely. However this was not what fate had in store for Kwon Eunwoo, and a few short months before his seventeenth birthday Eunwoo and his father were involved in a serious car crash. Miraculously both males made it out alive, but both sustained serious injuries that required months of healing and rehabilitation — the most tragic of which was Eunwoo’s right arm, which never quite healed right after, and despite his best efforts still brought him pain if he made heavy and repeated use of it.Due to this misfortune it seemed as if Eunwoo’s dreams of becoming a famous cello prodigy would be, at the very least, put on hold if not crushed entirely. However one of the college recruiters, upon hearing the news, took pity on the boy who seemed to have a wealth of talent in his bones — even if some of them were broken. He got Eunwoo an audition at a talent agency that specialized in pop idols, and within two years Kwon Eunwoo debuted with FenIX.His arm still bothers him to this day, especially in bad weather, but he doesn’t let that keep him from playing cello for his own enjoyment; he has on occasion played on stage for fans.Likes: Red pandas, classical music, crepes
Dislikes: Riding in cars at night, food that is overly salty, scary movies

Yeon Mari was born and raised in Seongnam, on the outskirts of Seoul. The only child of her mother and father, Mari was doted upon and well-loved by both parents. She was a high-spirited and personable little girl, bringing a smile to most people’s faces with her silly antics, and was always the star of the show during school performances (even when she wasn’t in the lead.)Growing up, Mari’s relationship with her mother was always incredibly close and enriching, the two of them spending memorable moments together dancing to music in the living room and singing into hair brushes. Her mother would even do her makeup and let her wear her heels and scarves from time to time, if she asked nicely.Unfortunately Mari’s mother passed away due to cancer when her daughter was eight years old, leaving Mari and her father deep in grief. Those first few years were hard on them, but her father always did the best he could to take care of her and give her all the love she missed from her mother. As she aged, Mari set her mind to becoming an idol as a way to honor those fond memories she carried, and at age sixteen she moved to Seoul and joined a training program that would see her through to that very dream; she would debut with 1CONIC three years later. To this day Yeon Mari speaks out about the importance of cancer prevention, raises money in support of research, and writes journal entries to her mother daily. She hopes one day to have a love as close and beautiful as her parents.Likes: Scary movies, fruity drinks, thrift fashion
Dislikes: Being bored, losing her glasses, raw fish

Hwang Jieun was born and raised in Daejong, South Korea, where she lived with her two parents and her fraternal twin brother. Her parents were notable doctors in the area, and as such Jieun and her brother lived comfortable lives growing up, not wanting for much of anything. It was an unspoken expectation of her parents for their children to follow in their footsteps, quizzing them on anatomy and physiology from a young age. Jieun’s brother took the hint and stuck the course, but Jieun was never so content. It was enough to her that she languished away in the church choir for so many years when all she truly wanted was to be in the spotlight, putting her angelic voice forth for the world to hear. Her parents did not approve of this idea in the slightest, seeing the idol life as inherently sinful and tempting, and her love of fashion and modern art as a slippery slope.Against her parent’s better wishes, Jieun sent in an audition tape along with a few friends from her school, and received an acceptance letter inviting her to attend training school in Seoul. Her parents discovered the letter and a heated argument ensued that would lead to an ultimatum — Hwang Jieun would stay and live under their roof and attend med school with her brother, or she would move out and have no support from her family should she choose a life of fame and idolatry. And so Hwang Jieun left home at seventeen and moved to Seoul, debuting with 1CONIC three years later. To this day Jieun has had minimal, if any, contact with her parents. Her brother and her are still in contact, and he wishes very much for them to mend their relationship, but Jieun sees little point in having people in her life that will never accept her for who she is.In the later years of her long and successful career she has chosen to take a step back from the limelight, only performing live, recording albums, and doing the very occasional modeling or ad deal if it tickles her fancy. She owns a home and a white borzoi named Orion who is taken care of by her friend and housesitter when she is not in town.Likes: Wine, art (creating and viewing), pillows
Dislikes: Fast food, cats, men

:Trigger Warning: Ryung suffers from NPD and is, over all, a pretty big asshole. Abusive and dark themes may be present but are not excused or glorified by the writer; interact at your own discretion.Sun Ryung was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, where he lived as an only child of his parents. With his father being a CEO in the luxury automobile industry and his mother coming from old money, Ryung was raised in a highly opulent environment and lifestyle, and grew up with a sense of status that followed suit.Mostly absent parents instructed his nanny and caretakers to give him whatever it was he wished for. Unfortunately, often translated to Ryung not being properly disciplined as the family caretakers wanted to stay in the good-graces of their employers by keeping the child happy. Little did they know it was the parents’ attention that young Ryung craved the most but did not know how to express. He learned from an early age to fill the void left by lack of parental love and attention with the love and attention given by those around him, manipulating others with smiles or tears until he received what he so desperately wanted. The result was a deeply calculating and empty young man who knew only how to use people for his own gain but never seemed to grasp that which he needed most, leaving him ultimately unfulfilled.Sun Ryung pursued an idol lifestyle in search of that something that he could never quite put his finger on, gravitating toward the swaths of adoring fans. He would debut with MIRAGE at age 21 after three years of training. Perhaps if he became famous enough his parents would finally look his way…Likes: Hot showers, silver jewelry, fast cars
Dislikes: Camping, cheap knockoffs, messy food

Kim Seungwon was born and raised along with his younger brother and sister in Incheon, South Korea. His home life was comfortable, if a little unremarkable, spending most of his time reading Manwha, playing games, and sharing the company of his cat, Soup.At school, Seungwon had a reputation of being a bit of a strange youth, not particularly struggling to fit in, but more never really trying at all. This was not to say he wasn’t polite, or friendly with his peers, but most connections he made there were very surface-level and somewhat impersonal. His teachers would also remark that that in spite of excelling beyond most young people his age in things he applied himself to, Seungwon seemed to have little to no ambition, unable to give a straight answer to the question of what he wished to do with his life. This concerned his mother a good deal as he grew older, and not wishing to see her talented son wallow his way into obscurity, snatched the first career opportunity ad she could get her hands on and insisted Seungwon give it a shot. Not wishing to be undutiful or ungrateful to his parents, Seungwon signed up with the talent agency that specialized in print models, feeling his lack of social skills would be the least problematic in still-life. But unbeknownst to him, not long after his first print gig showed up in the media, he’d caught the eye of the scouts from G1 Entertainment who liked his wistful, boyish look.Within a few short months he found himself deep in training to become an idol, whisked along the circuit like a leaf in a stream, letting it carry him without much resistance into something he hoped his parents could be proud of (even if he is, to this day, very confused how he’d wound up here.)Debuting with Mir4ge had it’s awkward points for him, and in turn his group mates, but the fans found his quirkiness endearing, and his stage presence strangely captivating; perhaps their willingness to embrace him with his flaws drove him too do his best, and as history had proven time and time again for Seungwon, he was unstoppable when he applied himself.Likes: Manhwa, his cat Soup, foreign films
Dislikes: Being put on the spot, the smell of canned tuna fish, alcohol

Nam Hajoon was born in Seoul, South Korea to two of the industry’s biggest stars — first-gen idol-turned-entertainment mogul Nam Jiwon and his fellow first-gen idol and actress wife Kang Soojin. With such star-studded parents it was next to impossible for Hajoon not to gain some fame for himself, showing up in the media alongside Jiwon and Soojin at awards shows and interviews from a young age.As Hajoon grew older, he chose to make a formal go at fame, wishing to follow in the footsteps of his father’s late career and become an actor. It would not be a difficult transition to the limelight, for being widely considered the industry’s ‘prince’ he already had an outstandingly supportive following, not to mention how the cameras adored the sunny, fresh-faced youth who only seemed to grow more handsome and courteous as time went on.Hajoon quickly earned the reputation of being a fun and genuine guest on variety shows, even being invited back as a repeat guest on several occasions, and his propensity toward going out of his way for just about anyone made him an easy and relatable favorite for fans and staff alike.Hajoon didn’t mind this life, as he’d known little else, but in spite of his success he worries that his good graces will wear thin in the face of those who think he only attained notoriety due to nepotism. He is also wary of growing in his father’s shadow, and the unspoken expectation for him to become the next Nam Jiwon. But his father had anticipated this concern and never let Hajoon take shortcuts because of who he was, insisting that he work and train hard at the same strict trainee school he had in his youth, and even audition at G1 Entertainment just like everyone else. While acting is his passion, Hajoon has, upon the media’s insistent ’gotta-do-it-all’ request, debuted a solo career — one that he himself finds a bit lackluster and cringeworthy; he harbors no delusions about his less-than-ideal musical talents, and tries his best to downplay them when able, preferring to focus on his work in front of the camera.Likes: New York egg bagels, sunglasses of all shapes and sizes, horses
